Dominic Casey

Dominic has worked in the London bespoke shoe trade for the past 35 years. Initially trained as an orthopaedic shoemaker with James Taylor and Son, he began working as a part-time lecturer on the BA course at Cordwainers College before moving to Royal College of Art to help establish the MA in Footwear Design programme.

Dominic has also worked as a freelance outworker, producing a wide variety of shoes, from ladies’ bespoke fashion footwear for Georgina Goodman and George Deliss to long riding boots for Terry Moore at Foster’s. Finally, Dominic spent 10 years specialising in last and shoemaking at George Cleverley, travelling extensively throughout the USA.

Earlier this year, Dominic opened his own atelier in Mayfair. All work is made by hand in his workshop in Sussex, with a focus on classic English styling, strong traditional last shapes, and refined proportions.
